Marc Willemsen is a PhD candidate within the research group Youth and teaches in the programme of Arts Therapies. He is curious about how improvisational play provides endless opportunities to be moved, to shift internally, invites expression and contributes to well-being.

Marc is also active in professional practice as a (psycho)drama therapist, group therapist and graduate in Developmental Transformations (DvT). After working for a long time in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, he currently works from a shared practice with (young) adults with diverse challenges. Previously, Marc created performances for refugee children as a puppeteer.

As vice-president of the European Federation of Drama Therapy (EFD), Marc is committed to knowledge development and the profiling of drama therapy in Europe. As former training director of DvT-Netherlands and a licensed (supervising) supervisor, he trains and supervises professionals in multiple countries.
