After all, technological developments only become meaningful if people put them to use. How do we enable people to live healthy and sustainable lives? Our research focuses on promoting a healthy lifestyle for all people, especially vulnerable groups. With our research, we contribute to the development of an energy-neutral, circular and accessible city, in which people can continue to live independently with more control of their own lives with the help of innovative solutions.

Which competences are needed to deal with these changes and how can they be developed? How can education contribute to this? How do we build a society in which everyone is able to participate, makes the most of their talents and feels safe? Our research touches the core of major social issues while it simultaneously provides professionals in the broad social domain the tools to deal with them. We develop a multitude of methods and products that have an impact on professional practice and education and contribute to knowledge development in our field.
