Brain Power: Co-research by people with dementia
Brain Power is a co-researcher group of six people living with dementia. They participate in research on what is important for people with dementia in their everyday lives.
Objective
The members of Brain Power contribute their experiential knowledge about what they experience in everyday life with dementia. They participate in all phases of conducting research to gain new insights and ideas about what helps in everyday life with dementia.
Results
- Publications of participatory research in peer-reviewed journals
- A book with experiences, stories, and tips for other people with dementia
- The formation of a network with experts by experience, professionals, and researchers
- Guidelines and tools on how to conduct co-research with people with dementia

The members of Brain Power meet monthly to share insights and provide input to the research. Additionally, they are involved in lectures, classes, and other forms of communication about the research.

Impact
Members of Brain Power provide guest lectures and presentations. The book “How Do I Live with Dementia?” is widely useful for anyone who wants to understand and learn more about daily life with dementia. Additionally, the monthly meetings are open to a few guests from education or professional practice.
