The evidence-informed safety and security professional

Safety and security professionals make high-impact decisions: which re-integration intervention will be implemented or assessing fire-safety. These are complex questions which require evidence-informed practices. Safety & Security Management education therefore stresses the importance of evidence-informed practice.

Objective

Research indicates that evidence-informed practice is complex to teach to students, especially in generic educations as connecting to their later professions is more difficult. This is however one of the key ingredients in successful education. In this project students themselves investigate how evidence-informed working is connected to their future professions.

Results

Thereby students will develop evidence-informed practice skills while gaining insight in their educational needs as a evidence-informed safety and security professional. The results of this project will aid in improving to connect education on evidence-informed practice to the specific needs of the future professional.
