Anouk Zuurmond

Researcher

Anouk Zuurmond PhD is a Dutch language specialist and philosopher. She is affiliated as a researcher with the Research group Normative Professionalisation. Since 1 August 2019, she has also been affiliated as a university lecturer in Ethics and Pedagogy at the University of Groningen.

Anouk obtained her doctorate in 2019 with a dissertation entitled "Shared stories and creative dissonances". On the basis of recent case studies, she investigated how literature can contribute to thought regarding a European identity. She has published on the added value of a European dimension in literary education and also developed related teaching materials.

Anouk is able to apply her philosophical expertise to the Research group Normative Professionalisation. She has published, for example, on topics such as Hannah Arendt in relation to current educational discussions. She is also involved in a Workplace Educational Research project (subsidised by NRO) entitled 'The Democratisation of Critical Thinking', which focuses on citizenship, Bildung, critical thinking and vocational preparation.
