Arjan Keuken

Researcher
Arjan Keuken has been working as a researcher within the lectorate Technology for Healthcare Innovations since 2024. He has also been a senior lecturer in the Optometry programme since 2016. His expertise is mainly in the field of visual functioning and clinical optometry. 

In 2023, Arjan received his PhD from City, University of London, having previously obtained his MSc 'Optometry and Visual Science' from this university. He obtained his PhD with the research; 'Age-related normal limits for spatial vision: Separating the effects of normal ageing from changes caused by disease.'

Visual functioning can be influenced by many factors, and investigated in different ways. He is particularly interested in the influence of different lighting conditions on visual functioning. This ties in nicely with Prof. Helianthe Kort's research group 'Technology for Care Innovations', and with the expertises 'Healthy together' and 'Sustainable together'.
