I am passionate about higher education and love to work on the (re)design of curricula, adapting them to the challenges of today’s society.
Biography
After a career in business (in marketing research for some big retail companies, among others), Loes made the switch to higher education. From 2004-2014 she fulfilled various roles at the HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht: teacher, course coordinator, course developer, project leader and education manager.
From 2014 onwards she fully focused on curriculum innovation, assessment, and teacher training. First at Hotelschool The Hague as senior educational advisor, and from 2017 back at the HU as didactic expert for Creative Business. She is also trainer and assessor of the BDB (Basic Didactic Qualification).

| General project description | Setting up an integral BDB-course (leading to the Basic Didactic Qualification) focused on HU-teachers in their second or third year of teaching, followed by an integral assessment. This offers colleagues the opportunity to round off their BDB within one year through a coherent programme. |

Other recent projects
- Implementing competence-based assessment in the entire HU Creative Business curriculum, inspired on the Programmatic Testing approach. Started in 2021/2022 with the first year courses, in 2022/2023 with second year courses and in 2023/2024 with third and fourth year courses. HU Utrecht. Role: project leader.
- Development and implementation of new didactic policy for the Bachelor's programme of Hotelschool The Hague. Including the organisation of an event with Dee Fink (educational scientist) from the US to train the entire staff. Year: 2016. Location: Hotelschool The Hague. Role: project leader.
