He has completed a Master’s degree from Erasmus University of Rotterdam in Urban Management, specialising in urban environmental sustainability for climate change adaptation and mitigation. He had previously also completed his Bachelor’s from National University of Singapore (NUS) in Chemical engineering with a minor in entrepreneurship.

Rishi has a broad range of work experiences ranging from roles in business development, sales, marketing in start-ups, teaching in schools (students ranging from age 5 to 60 years old), and consulting municipalities and private businesses as a sustainability consultant. He has worked in Indonesia, Singapore, and Netherlands. In the past 5 years, Rishi has taught courses and delivered guest lectures at a number of Dutch universities such as TU Eindhoven, Utrecht University, Wageningen University & Research (WUR), Rotterdam Business School (HR), Erasmus University of Rotterdam (EUR), and a host of Hogeschools across the Netherlands.

Rishi’s research and work areas include doing sustainability impact assessments for pilot projects on city-level or business-level, designing decision-making tools for organisations, and designing educational workshops for students and professionals. He is very interested in learning more about designing games for sustainability, starting bottom-up activist movements, and nudging people’s behaviour towards more environmentally and socially sustainable living.
