Mental Health Care Recovery Education

This project is a collaboration between the Participation, Care and Support research group (HU), the Mental Health and Society research group (Windesheim) and partners in the Czech Republic and Estonia who work together in the CARe Network. In the project, a modular educational program will be developed.

Objective

The aim of the project is to develop a number of educational modules on principles and methods of person-centred and human rights-based recovery-oriented care.

Results

The project will contribute to the quality of care, especially in Eastern European and Central Asian countries, where traditional institutional services could be transformed into recovery-supported care and community-based care.

Duration

01 September 2023 - 31 August 2026

Approach

Four modules are being developed: an introductory module, a methodology module, a module for managers and a train-the-trainer module. The development takes place in co-creation with a diversity of professionals, managers, experts by experience, researchers and teachers/educational developers.

"This project will support the transformation of traditional mental health care towards a model of care based on personal recovery, human rights and social inclusion."
