Simona Karbouniaris (1980) has been working for the Research Centre for Social Innovation since 2006. She has conducted numerous scientific and practice-based research projects, contributing to client-centred practices and recovery oriented care.
Simona is a certified Social Worker, specialized in Dance, Yoga and Movement. She obtained her master's degree in Social Intervention. Currently, she is conducting doctoral research at the VU University Medical Center Amsterdam concerning professionalised experiential knowledge of traditional mental health care workers. She is also involved in the educational innovation of the Social Work degree programme. She is a certified teacher in Supportive Relational Intervention (SRH) and has been chairman of the Higher Education Committee for Experiential Knowledge in Social Education (HOED) from 2010 to 2020.
