Physiotherapy integrated with digital health in Suriname

handen met telefoon computer en koffie
In various ways, healthcare technology provides the opportunity to support physiotherapists. In both the Netherlands and other countries, it is not known to what extent healthcare technology is currently being used, nor do we know the attitude of physiotherapists towards this subject.

Objective

This project aims to provide a better understanding of the potential of digital health for physiotherapy in Suriname, by determining its barriers and facilitators in low and/or middle-income countries, and by determining the feasibility and preliminary effectiveness of digital health on stroke patients in Suriname.

Results

The insights can be used in the implementation of healthcare technology in Suriname and other low-middle-income countries.

Duration

01 August 2023 - 01 January 2029

Approach

Different methods will be used, like a systematic review, interviews, a survey and a pilot study.

Partners

For this project we work together with Anton de Kom Universiteit in Suriname.
