For the past 25 years, Anand Sheombar has been involved as a consultant for developments in the field of ICT and higher education, healthcare and research. He is now a researcher/lecturer at HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht.
Within the research group, he is involved in various research projects within the research lines IT-driven Business & Process Innovation, and E-leadership & Digital Skills.
Anand finished his doctoral research in 2020 on the specialist area of 'ICT for development' (ICT4D) at Manchester Metropolitan University. His doctoral research focused on the subject of social media for development, or more specifically, the use of social media by development cooperation organisations in their efforts towards socio-economic development. He has a broad interest towards the impact of ICT on humans, society and the way that public organisations can use ICT.
As a lecturer, he guides graduates and provides lessons on research methodologies for three master's degree programmes (Informatics, Project Management and Innovation & Data Driven Business). He also provides the education for an honours module in the field of Digital Innovation and Internationalisation. For the bachelor's programme, he is a co-coordinator of the minor Business Information Management minor and he provides a module on Social Enterprise Design.
