Anke Hamers studied Arts and Culture at Maastricht University. During her masters studies in Culture: Policy, Conservation and Management, she became fascinated by art and culture education. She then decided to give further shape to this interest during the Academic Teacher-Training programme at Utrecht University.
She has been working at HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht since 2011. She holds positions as a study group coach and lecturer in the bachelor's degree programme in Ecological Educational Theory. She teaches various courses, such as Creative Agogic Work and Research. She also works as a study group coach for the master's programme Community Development.
Within the Research group Participation and Urban Development of HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht, she is involved with the line of research ‘De maatschappelijke impact van Kunst en Creativiteit’ (‘The social impact of Art and Creativity’). Anke is always on the lookout for ways to connect her research at the research group with her educational tasks, from which she derives great pleasure.
