Anne de Hoop is lecturer at the master Geriatric Physiotherapy and researcher at lectorates Innovation in Movement Care and Innovation in Life Sciences & Chemistry. In research, she focuses on effects of training on immune functioning during cancer treatment.

She worked at the implementation of a physiotherapy- and nutritional intervention for patients with esophageal cancer in 5 Dutch hospitals (the PRIOR project). In 2020 she started her PhD IMPACT: Immunity in Perioperative Practice, investigating the relationship between physical fitness or physical activity with immune functioning in patients with cancer.
With a background in movement science and a passion for applied research, she focuses on bridging the gap between fundamental research and physiotherapy practice.
