Dorien Venema
Drs. Dorien Venema, nursing scientist, lecturer and emergency nurse, started on the 1st of December as a PhD candidate within the research group proactive care for older people living at home. Dorien focusses on tailored emergency care for elderly with an acute health problem.

Dorien has 13 years’ experience working as an emergency nurse. During her nursing scientist masters she conducted research on the needs of elderly with a frail health condition at the emergency department. This research led to additional research questions and a PhD program within the university of applied sciences. Dorien combines her work in research with her role as a lecturer at the health care innovation centre for emergency care.
