Eefje Smit is a teacher researcher within the Curriculum Development in Primary and Secondary Education research group since 2020. September 2021 she will commence a PhD-research into the development of pedagogical content knowledge of pre-service geography teachers.
After her education in physical geography Eefje worked for several years as a geography teacher and teacher educator. Her teaching is characterized by the cooperation with other school subjects. She also co-wrote a book on teaching sustainability.
Her research focuses on the cooperation between school subjects and the development of pre-service geography teachers’ pedagogical content knowledge.
