H.T.G. (Henk) van den Hurk PhD (1956) obtained his doctorate in 2017, with a study of the relationship between knowledge of didactics and the instructional behaviour of teachers and the reading performance of their students.
In the projects in which Henk is involved, the instructional behaviour of students in their own professional practice is observed with the help of standardised observation instruments. The students then receive feedback on their actions. With the help of this data-driven feedback, they are enabled to optimise their pedagogical and didactic actions.
"With repeated observation, the data-driven feedback takes on a cyclical character. This allows for insight into the development process."
