Julia Planko is senior researcher in the Research group Building Future Cities. In 2018, she was conferred a PhD by Utrecht University for her research into opportunities for companies involved in the development of innovative technology to set up strategic partnerships via networks and clusters within their sector.
Julia teaches Business Ethics, Sustainable Innovative Marketing, Economics and Marketing within the International Business Management Studies degree programme. In addition, she bears responsibility on behalf of HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht for the innovative Circular Economy minor. Julia works to integrate the principles of sustainable development and the circular economy within the of the Business Management curriculum.
She firmly believes that the private sector can and should serve as the driving force behind sustainable development. That is why the education provided to Business Administration students plays a crucial role in sustainable development. To continue inspiring students beyond the walls of the university, she has founded the ‘HU Sustainability Club’: a student association with a strong focus on sustainability questions.
