Kitty van Summeren is a research analyst at the Research group Innovative Testing in Life Sciences & Chemistry. She works on various projects that deal with the development of animal-free testing methods and research into intestinal health.
Kitty graduated in the field of molecular (cell) biology (Applied Life Sciences). The techniques she uses for her research include culturing (stem) cells and molecular biological and biochemical techniques. During her graduation project she conducted research into the active mechanism of Pertussis Toxin, an important component in the whooping cough vaccine.
