Mieke Smits has been a research analyst at the Research group Innovative Testing in Life Sciences & Chemistry since June 2010, where she is involved in various studies. She is also an lecturer for the bachelor’s programme at the HU.
Mieke studied Microbiology at senior secondary vocational education level, after which she completed a higher professional education (HBO) programme in Biology and Medical Laboratory Research. During her studies and subsequent career, her focus has been on the academic discipline of immunology. As a research analyst, Mieke worked on various research projects at the Netherlands Cancer Institute, Utrecht University and the former Dutch Vaccine Institute.
