Stephanie Geertman has been a researcher within the Building Future Cities research group since 2024. Her mission is to co-create sustainable and healthy cities accessible for all. From a systemic perspective, she focuses in particular on inclusive public space and mobility.
Stephanie (MSc. 1999, PhD. 2007, Eindhoven University of Technology), worked for 15 years from Vietnam, including as a postdoc (INRS, Montreal) and consultant for international organizations and universities (e.g. Cornell University) on sustainable urbanism and mobility. Since 2017, employed by universities in the Netherlands, since 2024 at the HU.

Stephanie Geertman
Stephanie's perspective is that the development of sustainable, healthy cities goes hand in hand with inner human development. In addition to researching and teaching, she is also active as an independent system and transition coach to guide individuals and organizations in developing transformative skills for more sustainability, health and well-being.
