Suzanne de Bakker

Lecturer-researcher

Dr. Suzanne de Bakker is associate professor of Behavioral Communication at the research group Marketing & Customer Experience at HU University of Applied Sciences. Her research aims to support (communication) professionals in their daily activities, so that they can function and communicate effectively with the increasingly complex outside world.

As a senior lecturer, Suzanne is also affiliated with the Institute for Communication. Previously, she was a lecturer in Corporate Communication at the Department of Communication Science at the University of Amsterdam, where she obtained her PhD in 2006 with a dissertation on information overload among employees. 

In April 2017, her book "Contentmarketing", the first higher professional education textbook on this topic was published by Noordhoff Publishers. In addition, she regularly provides workshops and courses on behavioural change, content marketing, topical advertising and influencers.
