Veerle Hobbelink

PhD candidate

Veerle Hobbelink is a doctoral student within the lectorate Smart Systems for Healthy Living. Her doctoral research focuses on optimizing robot tutoring for underperforming children in arithmetic education.

Veerle holds a master's degree in Artificial Intelligence from the VU University with a specialization in cognitive science, building upon a bachelor's in Psychobiology from the University of Amsterdam. As a research assistant she was involved in various projects on the topic of social robots. 

Veerle wants to make learning more accessible and engaging for children who need it. By combining technology with a human-centered approach, she aims to contribute to a more inclusive, supportive, and adaptable educational environment.
