Admission

Do you qualify to enter HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht's Master of Engineering programme? Find out here.

Master of Engineering is solely a part-time programme. Unfortunately, this means that students who require a Dutch residence permit for study purposes are not eligible to apply.

Admission requirements Master of Engineering

If you want to start with the Master of Engineering, you need to have a related (technical) Bachelor’s degree. For example, degrees in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering and management or electrical engineering are accepted.

To follow the Master of Engineering, three years of relevant work experience are required. This way, you learn not only from lecturers but also from fellow students. Our students have often worked as maintenance engineers, asset managers or technical asset managers.

Because the practical assignments and the graduation project revolve around your work, it is important to have a relevant job when starting the Master of Engineering. Of course, this job should be a good fit with the Master in terms of content. Suitable jobs could include positions as maintenance engineer or (technical) asset manager.

Students living in the Netherlands (including non-Dutch nationals) can enroll as well as apply for student grants and loans via Studielink (in English, Dutch and German). For this, you need a DigiD log-in code, which takes up to five days to obtain.

If you do not, or not yet, live in the Netherlands, you can enrol via Studielink, after creating a personal username and password. You can create your account on the Studielink website. If you would like to know how to register for this programme and which registration deadlines apply to you, please check the master's admissions page for all relevant information.

If you would like to know more about how to register for this programme and which registration deadlines apply to you, please send an e-mail to MEngineering@hu.nl or call our programme coordinator at (+31)88 4817279.

Because the programme aims to deepen and broaden your profile as well as bring you up to date with current developments, English is a must. Especially since globalisation and international competition play a major role at the moment. We therefore expect your English to be good, both verbally and in writing.
