Developing a journalistic attitude
Educators in the field of journalism face a difficult task. Influenced by technological innovation, the competencies of the journalist continue to expand. This PhD research focuses on the development of a journalistic professional attitude for a technology-driven field of work.
Objective
In journalism education, the focus is often put on knowledge and skills, journalistic attitude receives less explicit attention. Despite the fact that the field of journalism has strong norms and values of its own, which distinguishes it from other professions in media and communication. But what does that attitude consist of and how can aspiring journalists develop it in various learning environments?
Results
Through design science research in co-creation with relevant stakeholders, this research project will design principles and pedagogies for the development of a journalistic professional attitude in various learning environments, appropriate for a technology-driven field of work.

This project consists of four sub-studies.
