Students4Change: Student Voice in organizing education differently

Schools are looking for ways to better align with students' intrinsic motivation and different learning needs. The principle of Student Voice offers valuable perspectives: students are actively involved in designing education. How can we organize this?

Objective

Student Voice in practice is often still limited. Pupils can give advice, but are not allowed to participate in decisions about, for example, learning objectives. Together with secondary schools and teacher training colleges, we are investigating how we can organize education differently through Student Voice – with students as co-owner and co-designer of education – so that students are more motivated to learn at school.

Results

  • Developing and sharing knowledge about and for organizing educational processes differently with the voice of the student
  • Expansion and sustainability of the knowledge network with expertise utilization

Duration

01 September 2022 - 31 August 2026

Approach

The Student Voice (SV) didactic approach is developed in co-creation with teachers and students in an ongoing professionalization process with accompanying research based on design-based research. Learning Design Studios are used for this.
