Anton Boonen PhD is a senior lecturer and researcher at the Theo Thijssen Institute (HU Teacher Training for Primary Education), the Research group Vocational Education, and the Research group Participation and Urban Development, all at HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht.
His research can be characterised by the way it forges a strong connection between research, training and professional practice. In his opinion, the teaching profession should be an evidence-informed profession. Researchers and practitioners should work together to shape research agendas, develop ideas, conduct research and disseminate research data.
Within the Research group Vocational Education and the Research group Participation and Urban Development, Anton conducts research on the following question:
"What characteristics does a learning environment have that traverses multiple professional and training practices, with the purpose of enabling interprofessional collaboration on social issues regarding parenting and child development?"
