Professor

Cyrille Krul PhD has been a professor in Innovative Testing in Life Sciences & Chemistry at HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht since 2007. She shares her professorship with Raymond Pieters, PhD Since May 2017, Cyrille has also been the director of the Research centre for Healthy and Sustainable Living.

Cyrille studied Health Sciences at Maastricht University, where she specialised in genetic toxicology. She obtained her doctorate from Utrecht University, at the faculty of Veterinary Medicine in 2001. She previously worked in various positions at TNO for more than 15 years. Cyrille has extensive experience with business development and leading innovation programmes in public/private partnerships.

Cyrille is an internationally certified toxicologist and specialises in methods that seek to make the use of laboratory animals for biomedical and safety research superfluous in the long term. She is vice-chairman of the ZonMW committee More Knowledge with Less Animals (MKMD) and regularly participates in international expert groups in this field.
