Laurien Brauner MSc started in October 2021 as a PhD candidate of the Research group Speech and Language Therapy: Participation through communication. Her research focuses on the integration of communicative participation and patient centred care into speech and language therapy practice.
As speech language therapist and novel researcher Laurien conducts her doctoral research within the Dutch national project COPE (Communication Optimisation through Participation Experiences). The aim of her research is to develop feasible and accessible tools that support speech language therapists and patients to integrate communicative participation into treatment goals.

Communicative participation happens in daily life but also within research. People with communication disorders are often not heard. As a researcher I want everybody to be heard and to be able to participate.
