Senior lecturer

After completing her doctoral degree at Wageningen University & Research, Petra worked as a researcher in various projects in the field of conversation analysis. She contributed to the 'Discursive Action Method', a method with which professionals can analyse interaction in order to gain insight into their own communication processes and/or those of a target group.

As a researcher at the Research group Social Interaction in Public Spaces, Petra participates in various projects within the line of research ‘Het Gesprek’ (‘Conversations’). She is currently working as a co-supervisor for Baukje Stinesen's doctoral research into the interaction between patients with chronic pain and their health care practitioners, entitled ‘Naar een gedeeld begrip van pijn’ (‘Towards a shared understanding of pain’).
